  • Make your bed: it only takes a few minutes and will give your bedroom a less chaotic feel
  • Put dirty clothes in the hamper: clothes strewn all over your bedroom, bathroom, or closet pile up fast
  • Hang up your towels: putting things back where they go will give you a feeling of accomplishment
  • Shut drawers, cabinet doors, and closets: leaving them open can make you feel like you forgot to do something
  • Keep books where they belong: create shelves or other storage areas for these items
  • Sort your mail: decide what’s junk and recycle it then put important pieces where they need to go so you remember to pay your bills or respond to an inquiry
  • Keep dirty dishes out of the sink: a clean sink creates a harmonious kitchen so wash up the dishes as soon as you use them or put them in the dishwasher
  • Have a bag ready for things you’d like to donate: when you decide you no longer need something, get it out of your space
  • Hang up your coat and clothes: if something is to be worn again then put it back where it goes

As one of the 10+ million U.S. adults with ADD, I genuinely understand the challenges of living with ADHD as well as the positive results that can be achieved through coaching. With the help of a great executive functioning skills coach, adult ADHD treatment can change lives. With the right behaviors and coping mechanisms, it’s easier to overcome some of the worst symptoms. Those include distraction, lack of punctuality, untidiness, forgetfulness, failure to meet deadlines, and more.

By practicing these success strategies, performance at work can improve, too. Life at home will become more stable and relaxing. Enrich every important personal relationship. And most importantly, you’ll gain a new level of self-confidence.
